It was the end of a forty-five-minute ride home from the mall when Joe lovingly looked at her as she sat in the passenger’s seat. “We’re home, sugar,” he cooed softly, releasing the seatbelt from her waist.

Jill opened her eyes and seemed startled at first. “Oh, my God, I had a dream that I went shopping and forgot all about crunching the numbers.”

His lips curled up into a sly grin. “Did you get a spanking from your daddy?”

“Nope, I’d just purchased a fabulous Valentino handbag and there was a Friends & Family Sale going on, so I wasn’t worried about going over budget,” she managed through a wide yawn while reaching out to give him a strong hug. “Thanks for a fun day at the mall, Joey. I’m sure you would’ve rather been golfing this weekend.”

“Are you kidding? You’re much more entertaining than Richard,” he quipped.
